TAMMY LOBAUGH
ABOUT
Tammy Lobaugh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Maritime Administration. from Texas A&M University. Later obtained certifications as a Certified Port Executive and as well as Harvard’s, Negotiation Skills: Strategies for Increased Effectiveness. Her career began with the agency and operations department of Lykes Brothers Steamship Company, later expanding into international salvage and construction with SMIT AMERICAS; serving as Marine Coordinator- Galveston Texas and Base Manager- Berwick, Louisiana
Returning to Mitchell Campus of Texas A&M Maritime Academy, she interfaced with Cadets, Former Students, industry, government agencies, professional organizations and communities to further the advancement of mariners and develop leaders. Responsibilities included the placement of cadets aboard commercial and academy training vessels, and ensured that required sea service was obtained, sailing as Commandant on summer training cruises aboard TS GOLDEN BEAR and the TS EMPIRE STATE, and coordinating port call rotations of TS GENERAL RUDDER.
Tammy has collaborated and networked to introduce the business of shipping to thousands of students, promote and celebrate the importance of diversity within a vital maritime fleet; both those serving afloat and logistically ashore. She serves as mentor and emphasizes the need of experiential learning and internships.
